Things To Do In South Florida in The Fall for 2019

Do you get excited about fall events like I do?

Last year, I saw a friend on Instagram go to the cutest place for fall pictures. I asked her where it was and planned to head there the following Sunday. I got dolled up in my fall attire and wore my favorite brown hat. The boys were not as thrilled but the hubs had promised to take me so I got them dressed nicely as I wanted to grab some photos.

Long and behold, the place was great but it was like almost 90 people. DUH! I live in South Florida after all and my make up was melting. So lesson learned and it will be shorts this year for my family fall outings but here are the top things to do in South Florida in the fall

Flamingo Nursery

This is where I went last year and I loved it. They had cute photo prop setups and many activities for small kids. My boys are older but it was still fun to walk around, check the pumpkins and have some great food. I didn’t get to ride the hayride because that line was way too full and remember it was so hot, but I hope to get on it this year.

The Brightline Event for Kids

I am so excited for all the events the Brightline has lined up for the fall and winter. First up, kids 12 and under will be able to ride free starting 10/14.

Guests will be greeted at the Fort Lauderdale station by costumed characters and will enjoy a costume dress-up photo opp and character interaction, and be directed to board the train.  While on the train, children will enjoy a hilarious interactive show with performers from the Florida Children’s Theater.

Secondly, they are having a cool Trick-Train Halloween Spooktacular event. As per their website:
Included with the purchase of a Brightline ticket, on October 19, 20, 26, and 27, guests can travel from the Fort Lauderdale on the Halloween Trick-or-Train heading south to Transylvania (a.k.a. Miami!)

Upon arrival to Virgin MiamiCentral, guests will be guided by the performers to a play area in Central Fare marketplace that will be transformed into Trainsylvania where families can explore and participate in a range of activities centered around art, music, and all things Halloween including crafts, games, LEGO challenges, and other fun surprises! The experience also includes a complimentary kids meal by HOUSE OF MAC.

West Palm Beach families are invited to ride the Trick-or-Train and will begin the experience at the Fort Lauderdale station.

Last but not least, they are bringing back the Polar Express experience. It will depart from Fort Lauderdale and Miami. This year will be double the fun as we added a second departure to the North Pole from South Florida:
–  Miami departures on select weekdays beginning Nov. 19.
– Fort Lauderdale departures will return weekends and select holiday dates beginning Nov. 16

Harvest Festival Weekends at Flamingo Gardens

Flaming Gardens has themed events for kids during the weekends in October. I attended last year with the boys but it definitely was geared mor painting, tractor ride, games, costume contest and a small pumpkin patch for photos. It was quite hot but I did enjoy some yummy corn.

Check out all the fall-themed events on their website.

South Florida Seafood Festival

The South Florida Seafood Festival is back and it has a great line up this year. This is a two-day event taking place on October 19 and October 20, where you can taste an array of seafood and yummy food. You can also spot celebrity chefs and guests.

South Beach Seafood Festival

Because fall and seafood go together, well in Florida it does. South Beach also hosts its own Seafood Festival called SoBe Seafood Festival. It consists of Five Days of curated culinary expertise celebrating South Florida’s top chefs and masterminds with the leading seafood restaurants in the area! It will take place from October 22 – October 27, 2019. You can grab your tickets here and my friend Eveline from Trend Me Up has a 20% discount coupon for a VIP experience.

Check their website for full details.

I didn’t get to go to this event last year and this year I will be away due to my son’s soccer tournament, but this event looks like a whole lot of fun.

Attendees can also decorate their pumpkins right on-site, as well as enjoy savory & sweet pumpkin delights (and delicious fair food) in our Pumpkin Food Court!

This is a great family friendly event held in Pompano. This year it will take place this upcoming weekend on October 19 and October 20. Halloween Events South Florida

Potential Church Trunk or Treat

Potential Church is hosting a trunk or treat event once again. It starts at 6:30 pm and they are set to hand out 1 million pieces of candy. This activity is a great alternative (or addition) to the traditional trick or treat for Halloween. Instead of kids going door-to-door to get candy, they walk through our parking lot and go trunk-to-trunk. The trunk of your car becomes your front porch. Gran your admission ticket here.

Halloween Spooktacular – Weston

The Town Center at Weston hosts a Halloween event every year. Store owners are given candy that they can hand out and there are lots of vendors and music. The candy is limited so this is a great place for little kids but not for bigger kids or teens. The event occurs from 5:30-9:00 pm.

Halloween on the Mile

Coral Gables is a great place for shopping and exploring so I am pretty pumped that they have trick or treating. The Business Improvement District of Coral Gables is hosting its annual “Halloween on the Mile,” featuring an afternoon of trick-or-treating at more than 70 stores along Miracle Mile and special events for the whole family to enjoy. There will even be a dog costume contest. Visit their website for the Halloween details.
